Location. The Allison House Inn B&B is 23 miles northwest of Tallahassee, FL., in the city of Quincy. This bed and breakfast is in the Quincy Historic District, a 26-block area recognized by the National Register of Historic Places. One block away is scenic State Road 12, designated Gadsden County's North Florida Art Trail. The Apalachicola National Forest and Alfred B. Maclay State Gardens are twenty-miles away.
Hotel Features. Furnished in English-country decor, the inn strives to create an atmosphere of homey warmth. The innkeepers at Allison House Inn B&B pay great attention to detail, from the lavender-scented pillow cases to the homemade muffins, breads, and ever present cookie jar. The on-site gardens offer guests a picnic area in the midst of crepe myrtle, almond, and magnolia trees. An expanded, complimentary European breakfast with a variety of homemade baked goods, fresh juices, fruit, and the Allison House granola is provided for weekday guests, while weekend guests are offered a full, complimentary breakfast featuring items such as stuffed French toast, crepes, baked eggs, and quiche.
Guestrooms. Each guestroom is uniquely decorated. All rooms have air conditioning, cable television with premium channels and wireless high-speed Internet access.
Expert Tip. In it's original state, this house was the home of General A.K. Allison, a soldier and lawyer whose accomplishments include becoming the Speaker of the House (1852), and President of the Senate (1864-1868). The original house was built in the classic revival style, but was significantly altered in 1925 by raising the house and creating a new ground floor.
