Location. The Savoy Hotel is the only hotel on Ocean Drive right on the sand with private beach access, situated on a lush, two-acre paradise that spans from the street to the beach. For nightlife, guests can step out the front door and walk a few blocks to the shops, cafes and nightclubs of the busy Ocean Drive promenade in Miami Beach, Fla. This European-style hotel is seven blocks from the Art Deco Historic District and the Wolfsonian Museum. Jackie Gleason Theater of the Performing Arts and the Miami Beach Convention Center are both one-half mile from the hotel. Miami International Airport is 11 miles from this property.
Hotel Features. For lounging and pampering, the Savoy provides two seasonal pools encircled by palm trees and tropical foliage and two sundecks with chaise lounges overlooking the ocean. Guests are serviced by a poolside bar and fitness room. Additional amenities include meeting rooms that can accommodate 20 to 250 people and an on-site restaurant, Ola on Ocean. Guests can also find plenty of cafes and other eateries in the surrounding area.
Guestrooms. The Savoy's 75 large suites feature contemporary or Florida decor, tiled floors, all-white bedding, goose down comforters, microwave ovens, refrigerators, and living rooms with dining tables and sofas. Additional amenities include two telephones, wireless Internet access, room service, in-room safes, bathrobes and marble bathrooms stocked with beach towels.
Expert Tip. While the beach north of the hotel is popular with tourists, the Second Street beach one block south is packed with locals, models and people wanting to experience multicultural Miami.
